Bilbo Baggins ventured into the Lonely Mountain to retrieve the legendary Arkenstone, the greatest treasure of the dwarves. Entering through a secret door, the hobbit reached the treasure hoard but accidentally awakened the fire-breathing dragon Smaug. Enraged, the winged beast confronted Bilbo and the dwarves to prove his dominance and claim the gold and jewels for himself. With LEGO set 79018 you can build a detailed replica of the dwarves’ treasure hall, divided into two sections. On the left is the mining and transport workshop, where gold nuggets can be moved with a large bucket and working winch to the smelting forge. This area also includes a massive rotating catapult that shoots golden projectiles. Descend the wooden folding ladder to the lower chamber, a forge with a heavy anvil for stamping ingots and a chute for molten gold. The right wing represents the grand dwarven hall. Climb the stairs to see golden walls and the throne of Thror, above which shines the Arkenstone. The set includes 5 minifigures: Bilbo Baggins, Balin, Dwalin, Fili, and Kili. Weapons and accessories are also provided: the sword Sting, 3 short swords, a golden axe with emerald blades, 2 regular axes, a mace, hammer, shovel, 2 cups, helmet, and armor. The dragon Smaug, built in red, features enormous movable wings, sharp claws, a spiked tail, and transparent flame elements bursting from his mouth.
