Description

Built from a single block of stone, Orthanc Tower was considered indestructible. In the late Third Age it, together with Isengard, was given to the wizard Saruman. Here he lived and used the palantír to learn Sauron’s plans, but the Dark Lord clouded his mind. Seeking to win over Gandalf, Saruman engaged him in a duel, defeated, and imprisoned him atop the tower. Turning fully to the Dark side, Saruman created an army of Uruk-hai, commanding them from Orthanc. At the tower’s base, hundreds of orcs forged weapons in vast underground forges. After their defeat at Helm’s Deep, Isengard was stormed by the Ents led by Treebeard, who flooded the forges and surrounded Orthanc with a great lake. Saruman and Gríma were forced to surrender the keys of the tower. With LEGO set 10237 you can build a 73 cm tall scale model of Orthanc. The interior has six floors connected by levers and folding ladders. The basement holds a dungeon with rats and prisoner remains. Above it is the grand entrance with an armored door, coats of arms, axes, and a statue. The throne room of Saruman features lamps, bookshelves, a Middle-earth map, and the glowing palantír. The alchemy room includes bombs, torches, flasks, a skull, powder barrel, pot, cauldron, and axe. Above is a library with ancient tomes, maps, and wizard portraits. The attic hides the tower keys, maps, and Uruk-hai armor. The set comes with 5 minifigures: Saruman, Gríma, Gandalf the Grey, an Uruk-hai, and a Mordor orc.
